Our major project this year was a complete renovation of the Penn Cove Suite in the Kineth house. The pink floral wallpaper is gone and replaced by a relaxing “Sea-Salt” green on the walls, while we’ve retained some pink accents. There is brand new premium king-size bed, a new desk, new remote-controlled fireplace, a new rug, a new 40″ HDTV and a new writing desk. The windows have all been restored and can all be opened with screens for the summer, to help you enjoy the views as well as the cool breezes. Our favorite floor contractor has restored the fabulous original fir floors in this room and the upstairs hallway too. With the spectacular views of Penn Cove and Mount Baker from the bay windows and the luxurious king size bed, this may be your new favorite room.
Of course updated en-suite bedroom is not complete without a total renovation of the bathroom and that was part of this project too. The challenge with this historic (1887) bathroom was always the shower. Curtains in a claw-foot tub never worked very well so we added a new glass walk-in shower in the corner with a rain head. We kept the original claw-foot tub as soaking tub too. All the plumbing is new and a brand new tile floor with radiant (in-floor) heat was added. The room is much brighter and more cheerful now too:
